I have used one of those toe kick saws and I gotta tell you, it scared the hell out of me, and the job it did wasn't great.. How many feet do you need to cut? If it isn't too many, you could use an oscillating tool - it will take a lot longer, but you will be sure to keep all your fingers, and at least you will then own a tool you might use again.
