May 04, 2004·Be sure it is a tight as you can make it. Be sure that your downfeed speed is not too fast. These are some of the main causes of crooked cuts. I just built a new base for mine. It is 90% complete but I do not have any photos yet. I never saw or read anything where the base effects the saws ability to cut straight though.

Sep 09, 2011·I have a Husqvarna 450 with an 18" bar and I notice sometimes when I'm bucking larger logs my cut will start straight and for some reason it will end up crooked or slanted towards the end of the cut. I don't notice this is happening while I'm cutting but when I roll the log to finish the cut I'll see that it's slanted towards the bottom of the cut.
